House Candy Featured on Redfin Blog

Updated: Mar 2, 2023

I was so thrilled to be contacted by Redfin to be a featured stager in their "Staging a House on a Budget" blog. They asked for just one tip. That's a tall order, because there are so many budget friendly tips that can be given to sellers. I decided to give my most practical and I think most effective tip. I have expanded upon this tip below.

Take great listing photos. 90 percent of home buyers start their search online. To make sure your photos look great, take a picture of your exterior and every room – this is what potential buyers will see. Add and edit your belongings until the photos look worthy of a compelling listing photo. –House Candy Home Staging

Start by taking a picture of your home. Take a look. What you see is what your listing photos will look like. The photos will reveal areas to be decluttered, items to depersonalize, areas that need better lighting, and things to move or remove. It's possible that your photos will also reveal that some more elbow grease or a professional is required. Sometimes something needs to be painted, updated or staged. If at all possible, don't overlook what needs to be done. In the end, all your efforts will pay off. Staged homes (homes that have been prepared for sale) sell faster and for more than their unstaged neighbors. If you find you're in over your head, I'm here to help. I also offer a pre-listing photo shoot consultation to make your photos look their best.
