The House Candy Works!

Updated: Oct 19, 2022

703 California St. got the works. This Santa Cruz historic home was in need of some love and boy did this house get some!

This home was drenched in dreamy paint colors by Sherwin Williams, had the floors refinished and also new wood flooring laid where there was none. A brand new kitchen was installed with shaker style cabinets, quartz counters, new appliances and subway tile. The bathroom was remodeled and features penny tile flooring, black plumbing fixtures, new vanity and more. The house was also lit up with new lighting; one of my favorite things was selecting all new lighting for the home. It's like adding jewelry.

Yes, the home owner made a financial investment, and a sweat equity investment by updating the home and staging to sell. But this huge payout makes it worth every penny. This house receive three offers and $290,000 over asking! The exciting part is that House Candy Home will be consulting with the new home owners on a few design choices. Yea!

WHAT HOUSE CANDY DID...

  • Pre-Sale Consultation

  • Color Consultation

  • Design Consultation with Mood Board

  • Home Staging

Home staging is just not what you do to decorate a home to sell. House Candy offers sellers detailed information on how to truly prepare a home for sale for top dollar. All of the above items gave the homeowner a really good road map of what needed to be done. This home owner was super motivated and hands on. He followed the design plan and it sure was worth it in the end. He left his historic home more beautiful than it was and he earned top dollar for the sale of the home.

I am super pleased with how nicely this house turned out and the response it generated by people who got to visit it.
